Post-release of Maharshi, his latest blockbuster, the actor took a break from his busy schedules and flew out of the country to celebrate the success of Maharshi. Now that he is back, the actor is going to begin shooting for his upcoming film which is going to be directed by Anil Ravipudi. Titled Sarileru Neekevvaru, the film has Rashmika Mandanna as the leading lady and actor turned politician Vijay Santhi is going to make a comeback to films with this movie. The film also has Jagapathi Babu in a key role. This project is going to be produced by Dil Raju under Sri Venkateswara Creations and Anil Sunkara under AK Entertainments, along with Mahesh Babu's GMB Entertainments. The shooting of this film will go on floors from July 5 in Kashmir and Mahesh will join the sets on the same day. For the first time ever in his career, he is playing the role of an Indian Army Major and he is going to undergo some vigorous training for the intense army related scenes. This is definitely not so easy for Mahesh because he hasn't done any such roles until now, which need any kind of workout and training. So his body is going to undergo some really big changes for this film. A stuntman from Italy has been recruited to train Mahesh for a few days. And all the workouts Mahesh is going to do will be under his supervision only. As per the sources, the training has already begun. Apparently, Mahesh is going to follow a strict diet to get into the right shape that is needed for the role. It's definitely going to be a thrilling experience for the actor's fans when they watch him on the big screen early next year, as Sarileru Neekevvaru is slated for release on Sankranti.

Successful young director Anil Ravipudi will be directing Sarileru Neekevvaru. AK 47 gun and the army cap in the title logo suggests that the film story has military backdrop in it. More details of the story are expected soon from the makers. Dil Raju and Sunkara Ramabrahmam will jointly bankroll the film. The film's release date has been locked for Sankranthi 2020.

Rating: 2. 5 out of 5 Sankranti, the harvest festival of the two Telugu states in South India, has traditionally been prime time for the Telugu film industry to release ‘big banner films with ‘top heroes. Other films, unless exceptionally well made with strong themes or technical brilliance, dare not release during this festive season. This time, too, the audience had limited options — Allu Arjuns ‘Ala Vaikunthapuramlo and Mahesh Babus ‘Sarileru Neekevvaru. ‘Sarileru Neekevvaru proclaims that the story, screenplay and direction is by Anil Ravipudi. But youll be left wondering wheres the story? Ravipudi, whose recent comedy ‘F2: Frustration starring Venkateswara, Tamanna Bhatia, Nani and Mehreen, was a big hit, seems to have made slapstick his calling card for this film, too. Inane comedy is passed as humour here as well. And for Mahesh, who now carries the prefix ‘Superstar with ‘Sarileru. as a legacy of his veteran actor father Superstar Krishna, this film is a deviation from his style of movies. He seems to be playing to the gallery in portraying himself as a mass hero away from his class hero image. He also dances for some songs just to appease his fans. Mahesh, whose last film ‘Maharishi had a strong message, has nothing to offer in ‘Sarileru. Its meant to provide entertainment — and in that he succeeds a bit. Mahesh Babu and Vijayashanti. But, its yesteryear heroine Vijayashanti, who makes a comeback after a hiatus of 15 years. She plays a powerful role as a righteous Professor Bharati, who would go to any length to stick to her ideals and takes on the villain, Minister Nagendra (Prakash Raj. The wafer-thin story, in which the hero is an Army Major who deactivates bombs like a child opening a packet of chips, enters the terrorists lair without any protective gear, and faces bad guys armed to the teeth with machetes and comes out unscathed, has several characters whose sole purpose seems to be providing comedy in abundance — so abundant that the plot is lost. If you are still interested in the ‘story, heres it: Major Ajay is sent to Bharatis house in Kurnool to help her in the wedding of her daughter while her critically injured army officer son, also named Ajay, is battling death after an anti-terror operation in Kashmir. His other task is to inform the mother in case her son is martyred. On the train to Kurnool, he meets Samskruthi (Rashmika Mandanna) who is portrayed as a girl who would propose to any guy just to escape being married to the man chosen by her father (Rao Ramesh. Helping her are her mother (Sangeeta) and two elder sisters. Thats when a full half-hour of slapstick comes on track with ridiculous comedy, where the girl even fakes a rape by the major just to force him to marry her. Once Ajay lands in Kurnool, he finds the minister harassing Bharathi and her daughters. The stage is set for Major Ajay to get into action. Telugu action films usually have lots of blood and gore where the hero kills the bad guys with impunity. Surprisingly, here he doesnt kill anyone except the terrorists. He, instead, chooses to reform the villain. Just when you expect a climax where the arch villain gets his due, you are left with a denouement. The cruel minister is reduced to a mere comic character and he taken to the border to be trained as a soldier. Thats the directors idea of conveying patriotism with a mix of entertainment. Its Mahesh in every frame while Vijayashanti, too, has a meaty role and she does justice with her grace and poise. The less said about Rashmika the better. Shes been reduced to a dumb femme who swoons at the sight of Mahesh and mouths her catchphrase ‘Neeku artham autunda. do you understand what I am saying. at the end of the very few lines shes made to utter. And she keeps gushing ‘ hes so cute, hes so sweet, to the point of annoyance. The music by Devisri Prasad is not too great. The song ‘Mind Block stands out, where Mahesh pleases the masses with his version of the lungi dance. Punjabi singer B Praak makes his Telugu debut with his ‘Suryudivo, Chandrudivo. Bad Boys For Life. the third movie in the popular action franchise sparked by Michael Bay's 1995 action smash starring Martin Lawrence and Will Smith. continues the story of two rogue Miami cops who will go to any lengths to get things done. And we should also probably mention the fact that the newest addition to the Bad Boys canon happens to be completely bats. insane. Set in what seems to be real-time so around 17 years since the last Bad Boys film and 25 since the original, we find the titular duo, Mike Lowrey (Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Lawrence) at a crossroads in their lives. Mike wants to keep on doing what they do best. indiscriminately killing criminals in inventive fashions whilst driving fast cars. but Marcus is ready to settle down as he's just become a grandfather. But when a figurative ghost from Mike's past makes a horrific and violent return, the pair are forced to weigh up what really matters to them and what they'll do to protect it. It's hard to get too far into the story without revealing some of Bad Boys' strangest secrets. and boy does it have those. but stylistically directors Bilall Fallah and Adil El Arbi do a great job paying homage to the bonkers of Bay whilst updating the look of the film so it doesn't seem dated when sitting alongside the Hobbs & Shaws of the contemporary action landscape. Speaking of which, Bad Boys for Life definitely feels like it took some tips from the Fast and Furious spin-off when it comes to pushing the boat out with some of its stranger action sequences and set-pieces. Whilst it never quite reaches those heights it's an ambitious attempt to meld over-the-top superhero-inspired action with the more classic R-rated violence and comedy that the Bad Boys franchise is known for. Lawrence and Smith are clearly having a lot of fun here with the latter trying to recapture his youth and avoid the realities of growing up and the former just wanting to finally take some time off. In 2020 there's definitely an aspect of Bad Boys that play differently as these films arguably glamorize police violence and in the newest entry militarized policing. Bad Boys for Life does try to reckon with that a little, attempting to speak to the idea of pacifism and coming to terms with your past, but ultimately what really saves the film from any deep critical breakdown is its own commitment to being completely and utterly ridiculous. We kid you not, by the end of this movie you'll likely be wondering if the whole thing takes place in a John Wick-style alternate universe. And who knows, maybe it does? Whatever the case, there's an almost impressive amount of WTF moments that had this reviewer's theater in a mix of hysterics and total shock. Bad Boys for Life is, at its core, doing what any studio movie does these days: setting up a potential new franchise. Let's call it Bad Boys: The New Class. These new members are mostly made up of a militarized police force known as AMMO which is staffed exclusively by inexplicably good looking ex-teen actors. High School Musical's Vanessa Hudgens takes on the weapons expert role, Riverdale's Charles Melton is the sassy muscle, and The Hunger Games' Alexander Ludwig rounds out the newbies as a tech genius with a tragic past. Unlike most films trying to introduce new legacy characters, though, Bad Boys for Life does it relatively well. Hudgens and co. are charming and their ongoing dynamic with the reluctant elders is a fun one. Whilst the core cast is solid the standout here is Jacob Scipio's antagonist Armando Armas who thanks to brilliant stunts and great action direction has some truly stunning and violent moments. It helps that Scipio is a talented actor who has one of the most fully fleshed-out character arcs in the film. He's also at the center of Bad Boy For Life's most surreal subplot which makes him one of the most entertaining and empathetic characters. After all, he is seeking revenge on two murderous cops who kill dozens of people on a regular basis. Whilst visually impressive. if you like fast cars, well-cut suits, and impeccably shot action. and filled with an entertaining cast, Bad Boys for Life flails slightly when it comes to pacing, narrative, and anything that exists below the very shiny surface. Basically, if you're prepared for the silly, savage, and sometimes completely unbelievable R-rated action that Bad Boys for Life has to offer than you'll likely be glad you took the ride along. It works to build out the existing world of the franchise whilst delivering fan service moments, classic character callbacks, and a chance for Lawrence and Smith to ride again. For filmgoers who aren't prepared for the action assault from all sides, it might not be the movie for you, especially when it hits its wild stride in the third act and completely commits to all-out war. Though it probably won't be the last time that the Bad Boys ride it would be a totally acceptable send-off to an action franchise that is still flying the flag for the old days of bombastic blockbuster fare. Verdict If you've missed big, bombastic, bloody action movies shot with style that lean into their R-rating and rely on cast chemistry rather than solid story then you'll probably love Bad Boys For Life. If not, you might still have a blast as this is certainly a nonstop ultra-violence extravaganza. But there is also the chance you might come out of the film with a little bit of all-out-action fatigue.
Thought he had the fat suit on from big momma in the thumbnail. The worst thing about Bad Boys for Life is that it is not heralded with a chart-topping rap collab between Nelly, P. Diddy, and Murphy Lee. The era of the St. Lunatics is firmly behind us. The era for Bad Boys seemed to be as well. But 17 years after Bad Boys II, Bad Boys for Life returns to Miami, where the boys remain bad even though they are both at the age where, as someone awkwardly says in the film, theyre trying to be “good… men. ” And you know what? It works. Bad Boys for Life catches up with its heroes Mike Lowrey (Will Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) at what should be the end of their careers. Burnetts now a grandpa, and wants to retire. Lowrey, however, still wants to be a Bad Boy: taking down criminals, preferably like a badass, and never settling down romantically. But when someone tries to assassinate Lowrey, the two have no choice but to get back in the game and crack some skulls. Unfortunately for them, theyve got company. The charmingly named AMMO squad is Miami PDs elite team that specializes in high-tech tactics for bringing down high-profile criminals. While clearly designed as a bid to build a Fast & Furious style “family” around Lowrey and Burnett (and bring in younger stars like Vanessa Hudgens and Riverdale s Charles Melton) the conceit works. Headed up by Rita (Paola Núñez) AMMO is the primary way by which the film homes in on its obvious-but-effective conceit: Lowrey and Burnett are old. And they arent just old, theyre exhausting. Bad Boys For Life is like a less self-aware Hot Fuzz, a movie about how much of a pain in the ass it is to be cops who work with wannabe action heroes. Lowrey in particular is hotheaded in a way that would be troubling if he were played by anyone other than Will Smith: bloodthirsty, reckless, and self-interested to the point where hes almost entirely unlikable. Smiths excessive and undeniable charm is the only reason Lowrey works at all, and even then its barely enough because Will Smith, like Mike Lowrey, isnt the firebrand he used to be. Current slang doesnt roll off his tongue as naturally, and these days the lusty reckless cop act suits him poorly. Martin Lawrence, though? Hes perfect, and when the two of them find a groove — like an extended bit where the two merely sit on a plane and razz each other for several minutes — its still fun to watch. Unfortunately, the new faces are underutilized. Its villains, the mother-son team of Isabel Aretas (Kate del Castillo) and Armando Armas (Jacob Scipio) are terrific but surprisingly absent; they barely appear in the movies second act. The AMMO squad is fun, but seems to waste Hudgens and Melton, two actors who are likely capable of leading a spinoff film. None of this ruins the movie, it just mightve been the difference between good and great. Bad Boys for Life is admirable in its lack of ambition. Its here to serve action and comedy in roughly proportionate amounts, with big set pieces that are just thrilling enough to hook you and jokes that are just funny enough for you to hope no one dies. If, reading all this, you think that Bad Boys for Life might be benefiting from low expectations, youd be right! January has long been a dumping ground for bad movies, and no one has been clamoring for a new Bad Boys film (although if you have, there are plenty of callbacks just for you. But Bad Boys for Life is doing something I deeply appreciate, something that only the Fast & Furious films attempt, despite their tremendous success: making an action movie for brown folks. I like having a big movie every year that I can watch with a solid hip-hop / urbana soundtrack, where the fades are tight, crisp white Nikes are standard issue, and dudes who look like my uncle chew scenery alongside reggaeton stars (or, in the case of Nicky Jam, reggaeton stars who look like my uncle. Movies where performative masculinity is taken to cartoonish lengths, and women cut them down several pegs while also kicking ass on their own. Movies that end with a cookout and cheap imported beer, you know what I mean? Bad Boys for Life is that movie, and if youve got a need for one, itll do the job.

The gentlemen movie showtimes showtimes. 'The Gentlemen (2020) is fine, consistently engaging and occasionally quite fun. It does have a plethora of problems, though. First of all, it's never quite clear just who we're supposed to be rooting for. This doesn't feel intentional and seems to be the result of its odd, flashback-based structure. There isn't a great sense of escalation and the pace remains mostly consistent. The narrative doesn't catch up with itself until far too late and, even then, it's annoying how most of the story is told via narrated exposition to someone apparently directly involved with most of its events. Secondly, the flick is simply an amalgamation of genre tropes and stock characters, almost exactly what you expect from a Guy Ritchie movie that isn't 'Aladdin (2019. The characters aren't really given the time necessary to develop properly; they're always walking stereotypes. Some of them even seem like stand-ins for the director himself, with talk of "proper cinema" and references to films like 'The Conversation (1973) being "a bit boring. Finally, the flick is kind of racist. Almost every character makes some kind of racist remark, mainly against members of Asian and Black communities, and it's often used for supposed 'humour. The worst offence is probably when a major character says another has a 'black heart' while specifically referencing race. The flick's treatment of women isn't much better, with the only female character coming under the threat of rape just so she can be violently saved by a white man. It all feels outdated, like someone scrambling against apparent 'PC gone mad. Plus, a lot of time is strangely spent trying to justify its problematic elements; characters have discussions about whether or not certain racist remarks are actually racist. All of this results in an affair that only sours with time, staying in your mind just long enough for you to consider its faults and then slipping away into complete obscurity. It's really forgettable, probably because it's so generic. It's not terrible, though. As I mentioned, it's often quite enjoyable and it's always engaging. Hugh Grant's scene-stealing performance is a real highlight, too. It's messy and misjudged but it's entertaining enough to keep you in your seat. 5/10.
